The most beautiful beaches and coves of Mallorca

Schönste Strände auf Mallorca

The most beautiful, virgin, hidden, with transparent water and crazy turquoise colors. These are the most beautiful beaches of Mallorca or, at least for us, the best. A good guide that you can take as a reference for your vacation in Mallorca.

You do not have to go to the Caribbean to enjoy good beaches, and the island of Mallorca is proof of that. Therefore, here we show you what we think are the best beaches in Mallorca.

In Mallorca, every time you visit a beach or a cove, it is usually better than the previous time. You just think that nothing can beat it, and the next day you find yourself on another beautiful beach. It is a wonderful madness.

The best beaches in Mallorca

You should know that there are many beaches and coves in Mallorca, and there might be many people who do not agree with the selection of beaches. If you think that bays or beaches of Mallorca are missing, leave a comment and recommend those that you think should be on this list of the best beaches of Mallorca. It will be very helpful for all readers.

Cala de Sa Calobra

It’s hard not to fall hopelessly in love with this little cove. We are in the Sierra de Tramuntana, and this incredible paradise has formed at the mouth of a torrent enclosed between two cliffs 200 meters high. The location is so spectacular that every summer it is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists who come here by car and boat. It is recommended to visit early in the morning.

Sa Calobra Strand

It is a perfect place for snorkeling. The transparency of the water allows us many meters of visibility underwater on this beach.

The road leads to a parking lot where you can leave your car and walk in about 10 minutes to one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca. By the way, from Sa Calobra you can enjoy one of the best sunsets in Mallorca.

Cala Tuent

Also in the Sierra de Tramuntana and only a few kilometers from Sa Calobra is Cala Tuent. Cala Tuent does not lack beauty. Surrounded by vegetation, this beach of stone and sand is much less visited than its neighbor Sa Calobra and has a super intense emerald green color.

Cala Tuent Strand

The surroundings are unbeatable. A mountainous frame under which stands out the Puig Major, the highest peak of the Balearic Islands with its 1,445 meters.

Access to the beach is easy. The road ends exactly where Cala Tuent begins. If you feel like eating in the area, a little more than a kilometer away you will find the restaurant Es Vergeret, where the paella is the star dish and the view of the sea is impressive.

Playa S’Amarador

Formentor Strand

Access can be by boat or car. If you come by car, you should note that the parking lot is located directly on the beach and there is a fee. Playa de Formentor is very popular with tourists, so in high season you may not find a parking space.

Cala Figuera

We do not move from Cabo de Formentor to talk about another of those Majorcan beaches, which will leave you speechless. A small cove with crystal clear waters, nestled between cliffs.

Cala Figuera Strand

Cala Figuera is visible from the road that crosses the natural area of Cabo de Formentor. A wonderful panoramic view that you can contemplate for hours. But every paradise requires some effort. To reach the beach on foot, you have to cover a path of about one and a half kilometers with a very steep slope. This circumstance means that even in the months of high season you can enjoy a pristine and very quiet beach.

Cala Mitjana

Narrow, small and very busy, but damn pretty. We warn you, the pictures do not do this place justice. So don’t be influenced by them and don’t think that you’ve seen pictures of other, much nicer beaches. Pictures aren’t everything and this one is worth it.

Cala Mitjana Strand

Cala Mitjana (not to be confused with Cala Mitjana in the north of the island) is located in the south of Mallorca, very close to the beautiful village of Portocolom. This narrow, shallow and quiet beach is a real treat. The sand is likely to be full of towels and bathers, but there is plenty of space in the shade on the surrounding rocky terrain. An experience.

Access is complicated and there are hardly any signposts. To get to the beach, you have to leave the village of s’Horta in the direction of Cala Sa Nau. Further down at a crossroads you will have to park your car. On the right side there is a country house. Be very careful, because next to the fence there is a small sign that says Camí de Cala Mitjana. It is about 20 minutes on foot. The beach is surrounded by a private complex, so you only have access to the sand and the surrounding rocks.

Playa de Muro

This kilometer-long beach of fine golden sand that seems to have no end, is one of the most impressive in the north of the island and the Bay of Alcudia. On the one hand, crystal clear waters of a hue sometimes confused between green and blue, and on the other, a dense forest of juniper. A new territory to enjoy its charms.

Playa de Muro Strand

Despite the high number of visitors, you only have to walk a few minutes to find a quieter area. The least visited and wildest area is the area around Es Comú de Muro or Casetes des Capellans. It is located in a protected area, the S’Albufera Natural Park. If you want to enjoy a few hours of tranquility in this area, don’t forget to bring your own beach umbrella.

Playa de Muro is located between the towns of Alcudia to the west and Can Picafort to the east. Access by car is easy via the Ma-12 road. You can easily find free parking.

Cala Torta

Virgin, isolated and really beautiful. More than 150 meters of fine sand and transparent water. It is surrounded by rocky areas and hills with thyme that form a dry and really beautiful landscape.find.

Cala Torta strand

Although it is somewhat isolated and far from a populated area, access by vehicle is very easy. There is a bumpy road that takes about 25 minutes to reach the beach itself. For this reason, it is recommended to visit it early in the morning, avoiding the arrival of tourists from the main times of the day. And of course, in a short walk you can visit the two neighboring coves, Cala Mitjana and Cala Estreta. They are beautiful.

Caló Des Moro y S’Almunia

They are probably the most popular and visited beaches in Mallorca, and it’s no surprise. Although each has its own charm, they are very close to each other and both deserve to be included without a doubt in the TOP list of the best beaches of Mallorca.

Calo des Moro

Caló des Moro is a narrow and beautiful sea cove so ideal that it seems unreal. It is the beach with the most spectacular and transparent waters of the whole island of Mallorca. The typical picturesque beach that you find in the catalogs. It is practically a huge natural swimming pool and ideal for snorkeling.

S’Almunia is the beautiful neighbor. An old seafaring village with small white houses overlooking the turquoise ocean. Access to the water is via a concrete platform or from the rocks themselves, where bathers spread out their towels and enjoy a little piece of paradise.

The downside of both is that they are always full of people. Especially the first one, Caló des Moro. Even the fact that you have to reach them on foot does not stop anyone from enjoying these beauties. You have to park the car in the village of Cala Llombards. From there it is a 10 minute walk along a path that leads directly to Caló Des Moro. From there, another path leads to S’Almunia in a few minutes.

These are in our view the best bays and beaches of Mallorca, but there are many more such as Es Trenc, Cala Agulla, Camp de Mar, Playa de Ses Dones, Cala Mendia, Cala Estreta, Cala de Deia, Playa de Cala Clara, Playa de San Telmo, Cala Gran or Cala Esmeralda.

In this link you will find a list of all the beaches of Mallorca and their corresponding technical data sheets.
