MARKET IN MANACOR

Manacor Markt

The market in Manacor is one of the most typical and oldest markets in Mallorca. There you will find a great variety of fruits and vegetables, and of course typical products of the island like cheese, sausages and olive oil.

If you are in the west of the island, a trip to the Manacor market is a good way to experience Mallorca’s culture.

When and where does the Manacor Market take place?

The Manacor market is held every Monday from 9am to 1pm in the Plaza Ramón Llull. Here we find shoe shops, craftsmen and costume jewellery. Right next to it, at the Plaza de la Constitución, the zone where we can buy fruits and vegetables begins. The market is very close to the monuments of the city.

What can we see on the market in Manacor?

In the Manacor market we can find a lot of Majorcan products, like fruits and fresh vegetables, cheese and the typical Majorcan sobrasada sausage and other typical foods.

There you can also find handicraft treasures made of ceramics or tools to work the fields. If you live on a finca nearby, in the west of the island, you will have a good opportunity to experience the Majorcan culture first hand and see how the Mallorcans live and enjoy their food.

Other possibilities are near the Manacor Market.

Near the market you will find several cafeterias and restaurants where you can enjoy a refreshment or try the delicious Mallorcan tapas. Of course we also find different stands with food directly on the market with typical majorcan food.

There is more to do and see in Manacor. After the trip to Manacor market you can visit the pearl factory or continue to Portocristo or Puerto de Manacor, as the locals call the place, where you can find many restaurants and of course some of the most beautiful grottos on the island. Another possibility is to swim in the crystal clear water in one of the beautiful bays of the area, such as

Cala Morlanda: this small cove near the Manacor market is located near the village of S’Illot, this cove is not very crowded and has a staircase of rocks.

Cala Anguila: this beautiful beach of Manacor is only 20 minutes away from the Manacor market. Its waters are crystal clear, the sand is white and you will find a restaurant there.

Cala Romantica: This beach is only a few kilometres from Manacor and only 3 kilometres from Portocristo. It is very quiet and ideal for a day at the beach with children because it is a flat beach. The sand is white and very fine and is not inferior to the Caribbean beaches.

As you have probably noticed, it is worthwhile to visit the Manacor market to get closer to the Majorcan culture.
